People who eat the most red meat — which can have high levels of cholesterol-rising saturated fat — were 27% more likely to die of heart disease. Serious meat eaters were also 20% more likely to die of cancer than those who consumed the least amount of meat. So what’s the magic number? They opted not to fly home on a private jet (which they flew to Ottawa on June 30th) and instead hopped a commercial flight. Granted, the duo sat in first class on the London-bound flight, the Daily Mail reports, but they were amongst civilian travelers nonetheless.

Hackers broke into the FoxNewsPolitics account early Monday, leaving a series of six tweets reporting that Obama had been shot to death in Iowa and the shooter was unknown. The Secret Service said Monday it will investigate the hacking of Fox’s political Twitter account over updates claiming that President Barack Obama had been assassinated. In a statement posted on its website, Fox News called the tweets “malicious” and “false.”

Freak, Tragic Amtrak Accident

I’ve traveled on the Amtrak and always thought it the safest way to travel, but freak accidents can always happen. Five people remained unaccounted for following a fiery crash involving a big rig and an Amtrak train in the Nevada desert, but investigators say they’ve yet to find any more bodies in the wreck that left six dead.
